During January, exports from Mexico decreased by 2.6% compared to the previous year, showing a slowdown from the growth of previous months (+11.5% in December, +2.3% in November, +2.9% in October and +3.7% in September).
Commercial Companies Indicators
From a monthly perspective and with seasonally adjusted figures, the annual variation is as follows:

National Occupation Survey
According to the survey, January registered a decrease of 2.5 million people in the Economically Active Population, going from 57 million to 54.5 million. The unemployment rate increased to 4.7% for the month of January (3.8% in December).
Survey of International Travelers
According to the data published by INEGI, 3,400,047 visitors entered the country during February (8,161,900 in February 2020) of which 1,587,130 were international (3,770,836 in February 2020).
Consumer Confidence Index
This indicator had an increase of 1.6 points during the month of March compared to the previous month, and a drop in its annual comparison of 1.6 points with seasonally adjusted data.
Business Confidence Index
The variations presented by the ICE in these sectors in their monthly comparison were:

Monthly Indicator of Gross Fixed Investment
Gross fixed investment registered an increase of 3.3% compared to the previous month. By components, expenses in construction increased 3.3% and in total machinery and equipment increased 4.2% compared to the previous month.
Global Indicator of Economic Activity
This indicator showed progress again in January, spinning eight consecutive months with an increase in its monthly comparison, although it is still below the levels prior to the pandemic, being 4.2% lower compared to the same period of the previous year.
Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity
The IMAI had an increase in February of 0.4% compared to the previous month with seasonally adjusted figures.
2 out of 4 of the components of the indicator showed growth in their monthly comparisons: Mining increased 2.3% and construction increased 2.5%.
Monthly Indicator of Private Consumption in the Internal Market
The IMCPMI fell 5.7% for the month of January compared to the same month of the previous year. Its components were also affected in their annual comparisons, national goods and services fell 7.2%, service expenses fell 14.1% and goods fell 0.2%.
IMEF Manufacturing and Non-Manufacturing Indicator
The IMEF Manufacturing indicator for the month of February showed a decrease of 0.3 points compared to the previous month and stood at 49.1 units. The IMEF Non-Manufacturing indicator for the month of February showed an increase of 1.1 points compared to the previous month and stood at 49.4 units.
National Consumer Price Index
The INEGI published this Thursday the National Consumer Price Index (INPC) for March and registered a variation of 4.67% at an annual rate (3.76% in February).
Gross Domestic Product
The Gross Domestic Product in the fourth quarter of the year rebounded 3.3% compared to the previous quarter, but it still remains with a contraction in its comparison with the previous year, with which it ran 7 consecutive quarters with negative annual figures.
Administrative Registry of the Automotive Industry of Light Vehicles
The sales in the domestic market and the production of light vehicles had an increase of 9.11% and 12.52% compared to the same month of previous year. Meanwhile, the exports of light vehicles remained in negative figures with a decrease of 13.24% compared to the same month of 2019.
Report of remittances sent to Mexico
Remittances sent to Mexico in the month of December totaled US$3,660 million, this represents an increase of 17.37% compared to the same period of the previous year. The monthly flow shows an increase from the US$3,381 million sent by workers November, increasing 8.27% in December.
